Jumping on the bandwagon and doing one of these, here goes:

State of Me: I mean, there's a pandemic, so.

It kind of varies day to day--a lot of the time, I'm just plugging along, trying to do what I can do from home (and trying not to set my computer on fire because the main program I have to use for work just does not function on my laptop) and it's fine, but then there's days like today where I could not make myself get out of bed until almost eleven and I spent the whole day in a funk. At least (as you have seen if you follow me on a) the Twitters or b) the Instagrams) I have my grave garden project, and spending like two or three days a week safely hanging out for an hour or two with Flossie & James Clarence and taking care of their grave has honestly helped a lot? It's nice to just...be out of the house and do something that feels productive. Also, flowers.

Rosie: She's gone a little quiet, but in a way that feels...normal? I don't know, it's steady and secure and it feels good, so that's nice. She and Neil had a shakeup in February with Guy and Harry vanishing on the same day (and a lot of that was really more distressing for Neil than for her, for obvious reasons), which was her first Big Disappearance Experience since she's been in Darrow aside from Daine--and Daine, at least, came back. Since then, she's been doing a lot to make sure Neil's okay, staying home a little more than she had been and trying to be there for him in a way that I think she realized she hadn't been before Guy and Harry disappeared.

The disappearance and its fallout also meant that Rosie learned about Neil killing himself before he got to Darrow, which I know I probably should do something with, but I'm not sure what or how. It's definitely shaken her up, and she could do with talking to someone about it; I just want to make sure I'm in a good place to draw on that emotional energy for a whole entire thread.

I still need to get her an actual job somewhere, too. Maybe something for sometime this summer.

Darlington: He's in an odd place--definitely happy, absurdly in love with Alex and all moved in to her place in the Bramford (though he's still keeping his assigned apartment so they can have two warded places in the city that are safe from Grays), but he also recently had a very hard conversation with Alex about the fact he vanishes without a trace back home and it's absolutely thrown him. And there's even worse to come, since I know Ruth has some other plans for Alex happening...soonish? At some point. Whenever it occurs, it'll be bad.

I want to do more with him digging into a) the general magic of Darrow and its weirdness and b) the aftermath of his talk with Alex about his future, because he's absolutely been doing a lot of research into portals and retrieval spells and anything he thinks might change or prevent what he knows happens to him, so anyone who'd want to help with either/both of those things, let me know. At some point, I also want him to try making a batch of Orozcerio so he can have it on hand in case there's ever a need for him to see Grays here in Darrow (and also because the temptation to use it would be a fun thing to play with).

Other than that, he's working at his visitor services/museum education job at the Museums of Darrow plus attending Barton, so he's been busy. He's also in a slightly steadier place in terms of his feelings about Alex stripping--though his deep and irrational loathing for Kavinsky remains. It makes no sense and I love it, long may it continue.
